Most of the attention around Analytics goes to the results of the Analytics activity - a better customer profile, a new target market, more efficient product design. What about the process and infrastructure that is needed to get the data to the point in which it is useful to the Analytics community? In this tutorial, we will talk about the less glamorous, but critically important side of Analytics: the people, process and technology infrastructure that enable an analytics-driven organization. Using examples from companies who are implementing or have implemented Analytics, we will cover the following topics:
  • How do you align your information assets to your Analytics goals? What data do you need and where do you find it?
  • What are the organizational constructs that need to be considered to integrate Data Governance and Analytics?
  • What organizational change can be anticipated and how should it be addressed?
  • How do you design your data management and data governance programs to support Analytics? How is this different than an operational use case?
This tutorial will focus on the key enablers for an Analytics program, what is needed to get started and how Analytics fits into an overall Data Strategy. Attendees will leave understanding the critical success factors for setting up an analytics organization infrastructure that will scale as your analytics program grows over time.

Having worked with the software and systems providers' key to the formulation of Master Data Management (MDM), Kelle O'Neal has played important roles in many of the groundbreaking initiatives that confirm the value of MDM to the enterprise. Recognizing an unmet need for clear guidance on the intricacies of implementing data solutions, she founded First San Francisco Partners. Under her leadership, FSFP immediately established a reputation as the first-call resource for companies looking to tap the value of Enterprise Information Management (EIM), MDM and Data Governance (DG). Kelle developed her ability to work through organizational complexity, build consensus and drive results in senior roles at companies such as Siperian, GoldenGate Software, Siebel Systems and Oracle. Kelle's strong background enables her to provide expert counsel to organizations seeking to execute an EIM, MDM or DG project. Kelle holds degrees from Duke University and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
