So you want a successful data strategy- who doesn’t?

Before it’s too late, take some time to consider Rumpelstiltskin. Learn how to keep your best intentions from becoming just another initiative, attacked by the corporate immune system and killed before its time.

  • Understand how all initiatives have a natural life cycle.
  • Learn how to keep your work from becoming an initiative—or, if you can’t help it, how to extend its useful life and how to recognize when it’s time to move on.
If you do, you may find that your data strategy lives happily ever after.

Gary Mesick is the manager of the Analytics Data Warehouse and Data Governance for Boeing Global Services Analytics. He also teaches a Business Analysis certificate course at the University of Washington. He has worked on many initiatives during his business career, including ERP, Lean, eBusiness, Process Management, and Data Governance. He has also published several poems in literary journals.
